If there is even a remote connection to soccer in your life, you have been living with World Cup fever. Men from every nation which plays the sport have been running around fields non-stop for days on our television screens. We even had a cable-guy come to the house on Father's Day to find out why our signal was not up to par. (The cable guy was a working dad getting OT for Sunday!)
I don't have any children playing soccer at the moment but the international flavor of it all has fascinated my husband, grown son and college-age daughter. The younger ones have not shown much interest. But we did ask, "Where's the women's World Cup?"
If you have an interest in women's soccer, I want to point you to the ultimate soccer mom who workingmother.com has saluted. She is Christie Rampone, the captain of New Jersey’s Sky Blue FC Women's Professional Soccer team and one of our Most Powerful Moms in Sports and one of our Working Mom Athletes Who Give Back.
So, if you want to share a little soccer fever with your girls, introduce them to this former Olympian.
