One of our from the heart projects is to recycle beautiful note cards people have sent us by cutting the front of the card down to post card size and grouping 10-12 together with post card stamps and gifting in a lacy ribbon to people we know who send postcards to enter sweepstakes.
Another thing we often do in our family is make a calligraphy coupon for a special gift of time (i.e. taking our friend or family member to lunch, or a doctor appt, or the beach, or reading a story from Guideposts or Angels on Earth or a special library book, or taking them for a drive to see a friend or the holiday lights or a special holiday program) since we do a lot of elder care and the thing they need most is our time. And, of course, we've made many afghans and aprons and specialty items for babies, elders, etc.
