Join us on December 4 to honor NAFE’s Women of Excellence. The awards breakfast will be held from 8:00 to 10:30 am at The Times Center, 242 W. 41 St., New York City, hosted by the Women’s Network of The New York Times Company and sponsored by IBM and WellPoint. Update: Office Depot and State Farm Insurance have signed on as an additional sponsor for the event. Many thanks to all our generous sponsors!

Special guest speakers will be the Pulitzer-prize-winning husand-and-wife writing team of Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. Mr. Kristof won a second Pulitzer for his op-ed columns in the Times.  He has also served as bureau chief in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Tokyo, and as associate managing editor.  At the Times, Ms. WuDunn worked as a business editor and as a foreign correspondent in Tokyo and Beijing.  Together, Mr. Kristof and Ms. WuDunn have written three books: China Wakes, Thunder from the East, and their newest release, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.  They'll talk about their new book at the event.

Every year, NAFE honors its outstanding members—the NAFE Women of Excellence. This year’s winners stand out for their courage, compassion, and proven ability to succeed, often in the face of adversity. Throughout the years, all the NAFE Women of Excellence share a passion for the advancement of women.  

 
Woman of Achievement
A woman who has attained a high rank at her company and has utilized her position, stature, and expertise to break down gender bias and effect positive change for women.

Mentorship
An individual who serves as an example of hard work and effective management and provides assistance to help advance other women.

Rising Star
An up-and-coming female executive with fewer than 15 years at a company or an entrepreneur in business for fewer than five years.
