During the next ten years Evans was Publisher of Working Mother, where she grew advertising revenues from $100,000 to over $14 million.  In 1986 she launched the Working Mother 100 Best Companies, which became the most important benchmark for women in corporate America.

Prior to founding Working Mother Media, Evans served as COO of The Chief Executive Group, publishing Chief Executive magazine and hosting 600 CEOs annually at conferences and roundtables in the United States and abroad.

From 1989 to 1996, Evans was President of Arthur Levitt Jr.’s publishing company, Stagebill, Inc., serving 110 arts organizations nationwide including Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall.

A graduate of Empire State College/SUNY, Evans serves as trustee of the March of Dimes, a board director of Magazine Publishers of America, Young Playwrights and Advertising Women of New York, where she is immediate past president.  Evans has won numerous awards, including the Work-Life Legacy Award from the Families and Work Institute, the Highest Leaf Award from the Women’s Venture Fund, the YWCA Hall of Fame, Women of Vision Award from Women Work!, 21 Most Intriguing People by MIN magazine and  Woman of Distinction from Miss Hall’s School.
